Dylan sits up on the bed watching Jeremy putting on his clothes. “I just realized I know nothing about you,” he says.

“Maybe that’s a good thing,” Jeremy says, getting a shoe on. “Maybe if you found out any more you might not even like me.”

“I don’t think that’s possible.” When he is done putting on his shoes, Jeremy stands and looks at Dylan and the way he looks makes Jeremy’s heart skip a beat. He goes over and kisses him. “I really like you,” Jeremy says. “And I’m not trying to blow you off. My life’s just very complicated right now.”

“Will you at least tell me if we’ll see each other again?” Dylan asks. “And please don’t lie.”

Jeremy doesn’t have to think about it. “Yes,” he says. “We will see each other again.”

“Thank you for saying that,” Dylan says. “And for the record, even if I don’t see you again, I won’t hate you. You should know that.”

“You will see me again,” Jeremy says, and goes to the chair to pick up his wallet and keys. “What time’s Jake coming back?”

“In about an hour I think.”

“Well tell him I had to leave early but I’ll see him soon,” Jeremy says, and is about to leave when Dylan calls out for him. “Wait! So what, am I gay now?” he asks from his place on the bed.

Jeremy sniggers. “What difference does it make?!” he yells and heads out of the apartment.
